Boiled Linseed Oil is a drying oil extracted from the seed of the flax plant and processed with special additives to shorted the drying time, usually 12 to 18 hours depending on conditions. Apply to raw wood only or those wood surfaces with natural rubbed finishes. Linseed oil needs to penetrate to the surface to be effective. Mix one part raw linseed oil with two parts mineral spirits. Mix only enough for omne application. Let penetrate 5 to 10 minutes on the surface and wipe off any excess material. Rags, steel wool or waste soaked with raw linseed oil may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. Immediately after use place apllicators in a sealed water-filled metal container. Quart oblong metal container.
