Keep Throat Seal Liquid in the wet cup at all times. This lubricates the rod and prevents overspray from damaging the packings. Plastic yokes seem to break with some regularity and are available separately. If you are replacing yours, be sure to check the brass rods for straightness by rolling them on a known flat surface. Also make sure the displacement rod does not bind up in the packings. A stuck rod will break a new yoke.
